Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Boardman, very close to Tippecanoe and Shields Road.
What area do you live in now? What do you like most about it?
I live on the outskirts of the Boardman / Canfield area. I like living here because the houses are farther apart and my neighbors aren’t right next to me. It’s nice to have space and a big yard.
What do you enjoy when you’re not working?
I’m a car enthusiast. I love driving and working on my cars. I also like camping and going places I’ve never been before. I’m on a bowling league with my buddies that I’ve been involved with for over 10 years. I like spending time with my family and my new niece, as well as hanging out with my friends, going to concerts, playing ping pong, and having the occasional cocktail.
How long have you worked in insurance? How did you find your way into the industry?
I’ve been in this business for over 10 years. My family has been involved in the insurance business since 1956. It started with my grandpa, then my dad close to 40 years, and now me. It’s in my blood. I still have many of my grandpa’s clients insured to this day.
What did you do before that?
I worked in an auto parts store, selling auto parts. It went well with my love for cars that I’ve had since I was a kid.
What is your specialty?
I concentrate mostly on personal lines, auto, home, small commercial, and some life insurance.
What designations do you have and what does that mean for the people you work with?
I am currently working on a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation. It really dives deep into the particulars of this business, making me the best at what I do.
What is the most challenging / gratifying aspect of what you do?
Gratifying – Genuinely helping people get better coverage, save money, and have an insurance advocate helping them make informed decisions regarding what matters most to them.
Challenging – Finding new ways to reach a broader audience.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in insurance?
In the 10 plus years I’ve been doing this, I’ve heard it all and I’ve insured it all. There isn’t much that surprises me anymore. I’ve seen small claims, and big fires that were total losses. I’ve seen dog bites, and trees fall on people’s houses. I’m just glad to be the person that they call when the unforeseen happens.
What are the top 3 things that separate you from your competition?
I make doing business with me easy. I’m available to my clients when they need me and am very knowledgeable.
