Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the small town of Freeport, Illinois. Small mid-western town living was a wonderful way to grow up. Everyone was close and looked out for each other.
What area do you live in now? What do you like most about it?
My Husband and I now live just north of Hubbard, Ohio in a rural area. I enjoy the piece and serenity of country living knowing that it’s only a short drive to urban areas.
What do you enjoy when you’re not working?
My favorite hobby in the world is gardening. There’s something to be said for the satisfaction you feel when the beauty of it all comes together every late spring early summer!
How long have you worked in insurance? How did you find your way into the industry?
I have worked in the Insurance industry for almost five years. I chose this profession because I really enjoy working with people and helping them.
What did you do before that?
The first half of my career was spent working for large corporations as their Purchasing Manager.
What is your specialty?
Commercial Insurance is the area that I have chosen to specialize in.
What designations do you have and what does that mean for the people you work with?
I have a CLCS (Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist) designation. This training was very involved and certainly honed my skills in the Commercial Insurance arena.
What is the most challenging / gratifying aspect of what you do?
The most challenging side of Commercial Insurance is placing clients with the best provider when they do not qualify for normal markets because of claims history or for other reasons. It is very gratifying when I successfully accomplish this for a client.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in insurance?
The most unusual thing I encountered was a client that wanted me to insure him to live in a building that was not a house. The building was built and used as an Auto Service. This client wanted to slowly convert it. I was able to successfully help him and he was very appreciative.
What are the top 3 things that separate you from your competition?
The three things that separate me from the competition are:
1. Putting the client FIRST
3. Follow up, follow up, follow up!
Why should someone choose you as their insurance agent?
I am committed and passionate about what I do to help clients. I chose to specialize in Commercial Insurance because I am very familiar with a variety of different businesses, per my previous career as a Purchasing Manager. This allows me to understand the different needs that are imperative for clients.
